About the Artist

Carol Culhane is a natural born artist who began pursuing her love of art full-time in 1989. Since introducing her talent to the world, Carol has been received with enthusiasm and respect in all of her endeavors. Everyone who has seen her artwork agrees, Carol has a special talent that sets her apart from others.

Carol's 20 years career as an artist has had many twists and turns.  Learning experiences are endless for a self taught artist.  The countless "do overs" until achieving the best it can be has taught her one important lesson.  It is a "gift".  She shares and gives as much as possible and finds great pleasure in community and personal service to others.

Some of Carol's endeavors include the High Falls Brewery "Horses on Parade" community promotion. The sponsor was "Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong" where she has a long standing relationship. Carol painted all the mural work on the Pediatric Floor, Play deck and the Emergency Department. Carol painted several murals at the Rochester Ronald McDonald House for which they have given her the honor of being their "Official Artist".

Most recently Carol designed signature ornaments significant to areas or organizations. Some of these include the "Fast Ferry" in Rochester, New York, the Glen Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park, Orange County Choppers and Reeds Jenss of Amherst, New York. Carol's most recent commission is a rendering of the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester New York to be used for ornaments, note cards and prints.

Carol created a donor wall at Strong Memorial Hospital "House within the Hospital" for the Rochester Ronald McDonald House. It is the 4th Ronald McDonald House in the nation to offer housing in a hospital.

Carol has created commission artwork for various organizations including tourism posters for Orleans County, painting for Duck's Unlimited and various art shows. In honor of the Vietnam Veterans courageous efforts, Carol designed a commemorative rendering for reproduction and fundraising purposes to support the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located in Rochester, New York. Carol is currently working on a poster to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and works very closely with the Veterans Outreach Center. She donates her time and talents to the community in many ways.

Carol is an avid support of the veterans current and past.  Her visit to Walter Reed Army hospital was so moving words are not enough.  She was able to spend 4 days with the wounded and their families.  The honor extraordinary to sit with these wonderful young men and women and listen to their story.  Feel the honor in their stories and the most astounding thing is no regrets, legs, arms, eyes, faces and on and on missing and no regrets.  It was a changing time for Carol.

She enjoys the custom artwork more than any other.  Working on a special piece for a memory or a loved one or a lost pet or a place from the past.  To have her heart sit in a home to portray something special to someone one gives Carol the most satisfaction.

Carol's ornaments and artwork hang in many homes and businesses throughout the United States and all admire her artwork. Carol's talent knows no boundaries and the diversity is what makes her such a unique artist.
